1. Understanding the Basics
- Cut: Removes the selected text from its original location and places it in the clipboard.
- Copy: Duplicates the selected text and places it in the clipboard without removing it.
- Paste: Inserts the clipboard content into the document at the cursor’s position.
2. Cutting Text
- Select the Text:
- Click and drag your mouse over the text you want to cut, or use Shift + Arrow Keys.

- Place the Cursor:

5. Using Paste Options
After pasting, Word provides formatting options via the Paste Options button that appears:
- Keep Source Formatting: Retains the original formatting of the text.
- Merge Formatting: Adjusts the formatting to match the destination.
- Keep Text Only: Pastes plain text without formatting.
You can select these options by:
- Clicking the Paste Options button that appears after pasting.
- Choosing from the Paste Special menu under the Home > Paste dropdown.
6. Advanced Clipboard Features
- Office Clipboard: Word can store multiple items in the clipboard.
- Open the Clipboard pane: Click the launcher icon in the Clipboard group on the Home tab.
- View and manage all copied/cut items for reuse.
